Our Favorite Blues

Pantone’s color of the year for 2020 is Classic Blue. Blues have been around in the interior scene for years, but this year they got the big nod they deserve. I love to use blue for walls, cabinets, upholstery, rugs or accent décor. It goes with almost any neutral and does well as the only pop of color or mixed with other brights.

Blue paint colors can be tough, but I have a few favorites.

For a Blue Green, Benjamin Moore’s Galapagos Turquoise is hard to beat. It is a rich deep tone that will warm a small room or give your favorite chest or cabinets new life.

If you want a lively navy that packs a great punch look to Van Deusen Blue from Benjamin Moore. This historical color looks darker on the chip than on the wall. It finishes a beautiful “bright navy”.

Farrow and Ball’s Hague Blue is a tried and true navy blue. I used it for exterior doors and shutters on my own home. It also adds drama to walls or cabinets.

When it comes to blues try not to over think it . Go with the shade that speaks to you!
